Premier Community Credit Union was chartered in 1931, to serve Stockton's teachers. Founded as Stockton Teachers Credit Union by a handful of local educators, our membership focused on educators and students of higher education. The credit union remained devoted to the service of educators until 2000, when our field of membership was expanded to include everyone who lives or works in San Joaquin County. While the benefits of membership have been extended to many more community members, Premier Community still values and maintains strong ties with our founders in the educational community. Focusing on the credit union philosophy of "people helping people," Premier Community Credit Union provides innovative financial products and services with professionalism and best possible service to all its members. Premier Community Credit Union takes the safekeeping of member deposits very seriously. Member deposits are insured up to $250,000 for standard share accounts, and $250,000 for IRA accounts, by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government Agency. Additional coverage up to $250,000 is provided by American Share Insurance.

Premier Community Credit Union takes pride in giving back to the community. Through volunteer work, donations, and scholarships, Premier Community goes the extra mile.

Membership at Premier Community Credit Union is open to anyone living or working in San Joaquin County including the following individuals, associations and groups that are part of our original membership charter:

  • Employees, retirees and elected board officials of public and accredited or licensed private schools in San Joaquin County
  • Employees and retirees of J.R. Simplot Company
  • Members, employees and retirees of any active education associations in San Joaquin County
  • Students of higher education in San Joaquin County 
  • Anyone related to an existing Premier Community member by blood, adoption or marriage
